Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Yellow Line, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate on August 10, is set to start operations ahead of its August 15 deadline. This 19.15 km stretch from RV Road to Bommasandra is expected to significantly ease travel across the city.
16 Stations, Driverless Trains and Fares Starting at ₹10
The Yellow Line will have 16 stations, including RV Road, Ragi Gudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommana Halli, Hongra Sandra, Kudlu Gate, Singa Sandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Electronic City, Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahar, Huskur Road, Hebba Godi and Bommasandra.
Trains will operate from 5 am to 11 pm daily, the same timing as the rest of the metro network, according to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Initially, there will be three driverless train sets running at 25-minute intervals. The fares will start at ₹10 and go up to a maximum of ₹90.

The Yellow Line of Namma Metro is a game changer for people traveling to and from Bengaluru South. The line passes through Silk Board Junction, the most traffic prone junction in the city.
Will it be connected to other lines?
Jaydeva Hospital on the Yellow Line will be an interchange station once the Pink Line is operational.
Central Silk Board will be an interchange station once the Blue Line is open. The Blue Metro will start from Central Silk Board and end at Bengaluru International Airport.
Phase 3 Foundation Stone to Be Laid by PM Modi
The Yellow Line project has been built at a cost of ₹5,057 crore. During his visit, PM will also lay the foundation stone for Namma Metro Phase 3, a big expansion to connect Bengaluru. The project got Union Cabinet approval recently, shows the government’s commitment to timely execution of urban infrastructure.
