Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a temporary suspension of services on a section of the Purple Line for track maintenance. On Sunday (March 9), Metro operations between Magadi Road and MG Road stations will be paused for three hours, from 7 AM to 10 AM.
During this period, stations including Cubbon Park, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Vidhana Soudha, Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Central College, Majestic (Purple Line), and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station will remain closed.
BMRCL has also stated that QR ticket purchases will be disabled throughout the maintenance window. Passengers are advised to refrain from purchasing QR tickets or tokens for travel between the Purple and Green Lines, as Purple Line trains will not be available at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, until 10 AM.
Despite the partial suspension, train services on the rest of the Purple Line—Challaghatta to Magadi Road and MG Road to Whitefield (Kadugodi)—will run as per their usual schedule starting at 7 AM. The Green Line will also operate as normal from 7 AM, with trains running from Silk Institute and Madavara Metro stations.
Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
