Avaada Group on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest around ₹36,000 crore in solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the state. The agreement was formalised during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2025.

Project breakdown

Under the MoU, Avaada Group will set up 5 GW of solar power capacity, 1 GW of wind power capacity, and 5 GWh of BESS capacity across Kutch, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat.

According to the company, the projects will strengthen grid reliability by enabling efficient storage and dispatch of renewable power. All the projects are expected to commence between 2027 and 2030.

Economic impact and government support

The initiative is projected to create over 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs in the state, along with additional employment opportunities for nearly 5,000 people during the construction phase, the company said in a statement.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said: “Their new ₹36,000 crore investment in solar, wind, and battery storage further strengthens our shared vision for sustainable growth. The Gujarat government has assured full support for the speedy implementation of these projects, as round-the-clock green power is essential for realising the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.”
