Zydus Wellness Ltd on Monday posted first second quarter profit at Rs 5.90 crore, down 30.6 per cent in comparison to Rs 8.50 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 439.90 crore, up 2.5 per cent as against Rs 429.10 crore during the second quarter of FY23.
With the continued thrust on marketing initiatives, several key brands including Glucon-D, Everyuth, Nycil and Nutralite recorded a strong performance during the quarter.
Zydus said that its Sugarfree brand continued its leadership in the category. “The brand continues to be a leader with a market share of 96.1 per cent. Glucon-D continues to maintain its number one position with a market share of 60.0 per cent. The brand’s new variants of mango flavour and sachets were actively promoted through digital engagement with consumers. During the quarter, the company’s brand Complan continues to register volume offtake growth ahead of the category. The Health Foods Drink Category has registered a growth of 4.3 per cent at MAT level. Complan’s market share stood at 4.4 per cent, it said.
Meanwhile, in the personal care segment, the company’s brands Nycil and Everyuth outperformed their respective categories. Nycil continued to be at number one position with a market share of 35.2 per cent in the prickly heat powder category which is an increase of 19 basis points over the same period last year and registered double digit growth. Everyuth Scrub has maintained its number one position with a market share of 43.4 per cent in the facial scrub category which is an increase of 162 basis points over the same period last year. Everyuth Peel off has held on to its number one position with a market share of 78.9 per cent, in the Peel off category which is an increase of 75 basis points over the same period last year.
Nutralite brand registered yet another strong double-digit growth for the quarter.
