Tech Mahindra reported its Q1FY26 numbers on Wednesday, and the company reported a year-on-year reduction in employee headcount. The highest number of job cuts has been seen in IT, sales and support.
Tech Mahindra reported a 12.6 per cent attrition rate in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. The company reported a total headcount of 1,48,517 in Q1FY26, up by 897 on a YoY basis. However, the company has cut employee headcount in the IT department as the employee count has reduced from 80,417 in Q1FY25 to 79,987
Furthermore, there is also a reduction of 774 employees in the sales and support department on a YoY basis. The employee count in the department has come down from 9,026 in Q1FY25 to 8,252 in Q1FY26.
Business Process Services headcount rises
While IT and sales, and support divisions at Tech Mahindra are losing headcounts in the quarter, the Business Process Services department has added 2101 new employees YoY. Additionally, the department has also added 642 new employees on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
