Online marketplace Snapdeal.com has tied-up with Hero MotoCorp Ltd, world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers, for selling two-wheelers. Launched on December 10, 2014, the two-wheelers, priced same as off-line dealerships, have attracted users attention with 700 bikes sold within 72 hours, with peak sales reaching 1 bike being sold every minute, the company said in a press note.
The tie-up between Snapdeal and Hero MotoCorp signifies the potential of e-commerce as a significant channel for automobile sales.
Automobiles category is one of the most promising categories at Snapdeal and is expected to reach Rs 1,000 crores (GMV) in the near-term.

The models sold as part of the launch offer include the bestselling Splendor, Passion, Glamour, Ignitor, Hunk, Xtreme and the Pleasure scooter.
