Ecommerce major Snapdeal today said it expects $100 million (about Rs 647 crore) revenue from its ‘Electronics Monday’ sale.
The ecommerce firm had announced a special ‘Monday Electronics’ sale just for today, in which it offered discounts across personal devices, home appliances and other electronic devices.
According to Snapdeal, there was a four times growth in mobile phones category as 5 phones were sold every second during its ‘Electronics Monday’ sale.
In the large appliances category, air conditioners and washing machines were the top selling products while in the home appliances segment, geysers were the highest selling appliances, it added.
“The tremendous support from our sellers enabled us to provide attractive deals and really solid discounts which resulted in this phenomenal response we have received today,” said Snapdeal.
The trends indicate that there was 10 times growth in orders and 17 times rise in sales, Snapdeal added.
“We are well on track to reach $100 million sales on our electronics Monday sale,” Snapdeal Category Management Vice President Rahul Taneja said.
Bangalore and Delhi, followed by Hyderabad and Chennai, registered the highest surge in order volumes.
