In another bulk deal, Reliance Industries has sold 85 lakh shares in Asian Paints through its affiliated company, Siddhant Commercials. The transaction is valued at Rs 1876 crore. This is the second time in less than a week’s period that the company has offloaded a big part of the Asian Paints shares in a bulk deal.
Earlier on Thursday, it sold 3.5 crore shares of Asian Paints in a block deal worth about Rs 7703 crore. The company sold the shares at a price of Rs 2201 per share. As per the BSE data, on March 31, 2025, Reliance Industries owned 4,69,87,850 shares of Asian Paint. This constituted about a 4.9 percent stake in the company.
How much has Reliance Industries sold in total
According to a PTI report, in the last block deal, the 3.5 crore shares sold by Reliance Industries amounted to 3.64 percent of Asian Paint’s share. The latest sale of 85 lakh shares represents 0.88 percent of Reliance Industries’ share in Asian Paints.
Last week, Reliance said it had a balance of 8.7 million shares in Asian Paints. With the latest sale of 8.5 million shares, about 2 lakh shares of Reliance Industries still remain in Asian Paints
According to a PTI report, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund bought these shares at the same price. With the acquisition of shares, ICICI Prudential MF’s holding in Asian Paints rose to 2.12 per cent from 1.24 per cent.
