Reliance Retail’s Profit After Tax (PAT) jumped by 28.3 per cent YoY in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. The company posted a profit of Rs 3271 crore in Q1FY26, against a profit of Rs 2549 crore in Q1FY25.
Reliance Retail’s revenue from operations increased by 11.3 per cent YoY in Q1. The segment’s revenue in Q1FY26 stood at Rs 73,720 crore. Last year, in Q1FY25, Reliance Retail’s revenue stood at Rs 66,260 crore.
Reliance Retail posted an EBITDA of Rs 6381 crore in the quarter, registering a 12.7 per cent YoY growth.
Operational growth
Reliance Retail’s store count increased from 18,918 in Q1FY25 to 19,952 in Q1FY26, growing 3.6 per cent YoY. The segment’s customer base also grew by 13.3 per cent YoY, as the customer base increased to 358 million in Q1FY26 against 316 million in Q1FY25.
JioMart, the company’s online grocery delivery company, registered a 175 per cent YoY and 68 per cent QoQ growth in daily orders. By the end of the first quarter of FY26, JioMart was operational in about 1000 cities with over 2200 stores
Isha Mukesh Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail, said, “ Reliance Retail delivered resilient performance during this quarter, driven by our relentless focus on operational excellence, geographical expansion and sharper product portfolio.”
She added that the continued investments in cutting-edge technologies and differentiated product offerings have enabled the company to serve its customers better and scale with agility.
Electronics and fashion business
In the consumer electronics segment, while the AC sales declined due to the onset of monsoon, the average bill value in the segment increased by 26 per cent. Further, the segment acquired the Kelvinator brand IP for India, strengthening its brand portfolio.
The fashion and lifestyle segment has seen a growth in both revenue and EBITDA in the quarter. Ajio, the e-commerce fashion platform of the company, saw a good customer growth in the quarter as the new customer share in the platform’s revenue increased to 18 per cent.
The grocery business of Reliance Retail also scaled its market operations. The fruit and vegetable sales grew by 15 per cent YoY in the quarter, while the packaged food category grew by 13 per cent.
