Rajiv Anand, currently the Deputy Managing Director at Axis Bank, has emerged as a strong candidate for the position of Chief Executive Officer at IndusInd Bank, as per CNBC-TV18.
The IndusInd Bank board is evaluating multiple names for the top role, with Anand seen as a front-runner. He is expected to retire from Axis Bank in August this year.
RBI sets deadline for CEO name submission
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked IndusInd Bank to submit the list of potential CEO candidates by June 30. So far, the bank has discussed the names unofficially with the regulator but is yet to formally submit the list.
Other names also under consideration
Rahul Shukla from HDFC Bank and Anup Saha of Bajaj Finance are also reportedly in the race for the coveted position according to CNBC-TV18. Shukla is currently on a sabbatical and previously served as Group Head of Commercial and Rural Banking at HDFC Bank.
Anup Saha, on the other hand, has been serving as the Managing Director of Bajaj Finance since March 2025.
CNBC-TV18 is awaiting comments regarding the developments from IndusInd Bank.
