Lucknow-based biofortified food brand Better Nutrition is aiming to cross Rs 100 crore in revenue in 2026-27, from Rs 11.5 crore in FY25, with a focus on quick commerce and tier 2 cities.

Speaking to FE, Prateek Rastogi, Co-founder and CEO, Better Nutrition, said that in FY26, the company is expected to report a revenue of Rs 27 crore, driven by deeper retail penetration, and new product launches.

The company, backed by badminton player PV Sindhu, provides the farmers with biofortified seeds which are naturally enriched with essential nutrients such as zinc, iron, protein, and calcium. To supply these, it uses a Kisan Ki Dukan initiative – a farmer-led supply chain supported by over 20,000 growers.

In return, it gets biofortified products from the farmers through the same supply chain.

“Fortifying daily staples with essential micronutrients allows us to meet people where they are, without asking them to drastically change habits or pay a premium,” said Aishwarya Bhatnagar, Co-founder of Better Nutrition.

The company started with biofortified atta and rice. Now, it is aiming to expand into other products like zinc, iron enhanced pulses and protein rice. For this, it is ramping up the research & development capabilities and hiring senior personnel.

The firm gained prominence after it appeared on TV show Shark Tank India Season 4 in February. Since then, it has scaled up nearly 10X — growing from Rs 10 lakh to over Rs 1 crore in monthly revenue.

In tier 2 cities, Rastogi said, around 90% of its revenue would initially come from digital channels like quick commerce, e-commerce marketplaces and the company’s website. This would change with brand growth.

“As the brand touches the annual revenue of Rs 500 crore, the channel mix will likely balance out, with digital contributing around 50%, and general trade and modern trade contributing the remaining,” he said.
