Seeking to kick start the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) poll campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said, ‘The development of Bihar is our prime agenda’ and launched a slew of schemes and also flagged off the Indian Railways Daniyawa-Biharsharif line and the Patna-Mumbai railway line, here on Saturday.
PM Narendra Modi, who shared the stage with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also launched the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) .
PM Modi, in his speech said, “Looking at our dreams for a prosperous Bihar, we will give a bigger package than Rs 50,000 cr. This is my promise.”
He dedicated the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna to the nation and an incubation centre for medical electronics.
Highlighting how divisive agendas have harmed the state, PM Modi said, “Politics has hampered Bihar’s development; work which could have been done during A B Vajpayee’s time happening now.”
The Prime Minister will later head to North Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, where he will address his maiden rally for the upcoming assembly elections.
