Zerodha co-founder and serial investor Nikhil Kamath has launched a non-dilutive, sector-agnostic, grant-based fund called WTFund, which will offer cheques of Rs 20 lakh to 40 eligible entrepreneurs aged 25 and under, along with mentorship for one year.
“The fund provides access to operator-first mentorship pods, a vibrant community through the WTF ecosystem, a go-to-market (GTM) studio, beta testing, and feedback opportunities, as well as talent acquisition channels through an internship programme, a fractional CXO database, and moonlighting opportunities,” the WTF team said in a statement.
The fund is aimed at helping young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas retain full ownership of their initiatives. These chosen entrepreneurs will also receive support till they get their first institutional funding.
The fund follows a monthly podcast hosted by Kamath, ‘WTF is’, where he engages in conversations with business leaders and investors. Kamath also runs Gruhas, a venture capital fund, along with entrepreneur Abhijeet Pai. Besides these, Zerodha operates Rainmatter, a patient capital fund with no exit mandates and a focus on investing in fintech and health-tech companies.
