Infosys has appointed Richard Lobo as its new HR head for the India geography, even as the IT major scouts for a suitable executive for the global HR role.
The appointment of Lobo was made during late July and he will be in charge of all HR functions of Infosys in India sans the role of talent acquisition, according to people familiar with the developments.
Lobo joined Infosys in 2000 and has led several people management functions in the company. Currently, he heads Human Resources (HR) for the entire global delivery organisation of Infosys – spanning Asia, Europe and the Americas. He is also responsible for employee relations across its centers globally.
When contacted, the spokesperson for Infosys declined to comment. Currently, the global HR head role is being managed by Infosys COO UB Pravin.
The IT major is still scouting for a suitable executive for this role ever since it undertook a organisational restructuring in April this year. The previous global HR head Srikantan Moorthy has moved into a delivery role.
Earlier there were reports that Infosys has mandated an external agency to scout for a new global HR head. Infosys had faced certain HR challenges in the last one year with high degree of attrition but it has seen a decline in the latest reporting quarter of FY16.
