On a day’s visit to Ahmedabad amid the Maggi controversy,  Union consumer affairs, food and public distribution minister Ram Vilas Paswan said the decision to ban the noodles permanently can be taken only after the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) submits its findings to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC).

“FSSAI is asking states to submit their reports… FSSAI will then submit its finding to the commission. The commission will assess the matter, conduct hearings, and then a decision will be taken. We have given directions to
the respective authorities, and a final decision can be taken only after the findings,” Paswan told mediapersons.
