The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has appointed Sanjiv Puri, chairman and managing director of ITC as the president for 2024-25. With this appointment, Puri has replaced chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions, R Dinesh.
Additionally, R Mukundan, managing director and CEO of Tata Chemicals Limited, has been appointed as the vice-president of CII for 2024-25. “He is a distinguished alumnus of IIT, Roorkee, a Fellow of Indian Chemical Society and an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Mukundan, during his 33-year career with Tata Group, has held various responsibilities across the chemical, automotive and hospitality sectors of the Tata Group,” CII stated.
Rajiv Memani has taken over the charge as president-designate of CII for 2024-25. Memani is the chairman of EY’s (Ernst & Young) India region. He is also a member of EY’s global management body as the chair of its global emerging markets committee.

Chairman and MD of ITC, Sanjiv Puri, heads ITC’s FMCG, hotels, paperboards and packaging, agribusiness and IT. Puri is also the chairman of ITC Infotech India Limited, an ITC subsidiary in the UK and US, and Surya Nepal Private Limited.
