In a strong start to August, several Indian listed companies have announced major order wins across defence, infrastructure, renewable energy, and public sector projects. From AXISCADES securing a Rs 223.95 crore order from the Indian Army to Suzlon powering Zelestra’s 381 MW renewable energy push, these contracts highlight the growing momentum in domestic manufacturing, EPC services, and clean energy transitions.
Here are a few major order wins in Aug so far:
AXISCADES bags Rs 223.95 crore order from Indian Arm
On Aug 4, AXISCADES Aerospace & Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of AXISCADES Technologies, secured a Rs 223.95 crore order from the Indian Army for the supply of 212 next-generation 50-ton tank transporter trailers. The contract will be executed over two years under the Centre’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
The order was placed by the Directorate General of Capability Development, Ministry of Defence (Army), and is entirely domestic in nature.

Lloyds Engineering Works’s 88%-owned subsidiary, Techno Industries, has secured a Rs 19.58 crore order from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation for the supply and maintenance of escalators on Aug 1. The contract includes design, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and AMC services.
This marks Techno Industries’ strategic entry into the high-growth Indian Railways sector and expands its presence beyond Gujarat. With this deal, the company’s order book now stands at Rs 82.86 crore, aligning with its broader plan to grow across tier-2/3 markets, industrial elevators, and export segments.
L&T bags major EPC orders in solar storage and zinc smelting projects
On Monday, Aug 4, Larsen & Toubro’s Renewables vertical secured a significant EPC order to develop a 116 MWac solar photovoltaic (PV) plant integrated with a 241 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kajra in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. This marks the second phase of development at the site, bringing the total co-located storage capacity to 495 MWh—the largest awarded by a state utility in India.
The 4-hour BESS will enable energy time-shifting, allowing surplus solar power to be stored and dispatched during peak demand hours.
Earlier on Aug 1, Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) vertical has secured a large EPC order from Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a Vedanta Group company, for the development of a 250 KTPA Leaching, Purification & Cellhouse facility and a 125 KTPA Jarosite Circuit at HZL’s Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan. The facility will produce Special High Grade Zinc Cathodes (99.995% Zn).
The scope of the project includes complete design, procurement, and site services—ranging from installation to commissioning—of key plant units such as Calcine Storage, Leaching, Purification, Electrowinning (Jumbo Cell House), and auxiliary systems like utilities, electrics, instrumentation, and automation.
