Afcons Infrastructure bagged a massive Rs 6,800 crore construction order in Croatia on Monday. The Shapoorji Pallonji group company has emerged as the lowest bidder for construction and rehabilitation of railway lines.
In an exchange filing, the company said that the order pertains to reconstruction of existing railway line and construction of a new second railway track along with overhead electrification, signalling, and telecommunication works. The company said the completion timeline for the project is 72 months.
Last two orders in Croatia
This is the third big construction project order that the company has won in less than a week in Croatia. Earlier on July 17, the company emerged as the lowest bidder for two infrastructure contracts worth Rs 4,535 crore.
Afcons Infrastructure earlier said that the first order, worth Rs 2398 crore, pertains to the construction of a 9 KM road, while the second order, worth Rs 2137 crore, is for the construction of an 11.5 KM road in Croatia.
The company said that the construction period for those two roads in the Balkan country is set at a 42-month period.
Work order from Reliance
Prior to the order from Croatia, Afcons Infrastructure, earlier on July 2, received a Letter of Commitment from Reliance Industries for civil and structural construction work at Reliance’s facility in Jamnagar. The construction order from Reliance Industries was worth Rs 175 crore.
Afcons Infrastructure FY25 highlights
Besides India, Afcons Infra has a presence in over 25 countries, primarily in Africa and the Middle East. In the fiscal year 2025, the company completed over 60 projects overseas. The company completed construction of over 5100 Lane KM of roads and 195 bridges and flyovers. Furthermore, the company completed the construction of about 150 km of elevated and underground metro tracks.
Afcon Infrastructure posted Rs 497 crore PAT in FY25. The company reported a total income of Rs 13,023 crore in FY25, decreasing by 4.57 per cent on a Year-on-Year basis. While the company saw a decline in its total income in the year, its EBITDA grew by 4.99 per cent. The company posted EBITDA of Rs 1662 crore in FY25.
Afcons Infrastructure’s profit after tax (PAT) grew by 8.2 per cent in the year. Its PAT increased from Rs 450 crore in FY25 to RS 487 crore in FY26.
