Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on Monday announced that it handled total cargo volumes of 37.3 MMT during July 2024, up 9.5 per cent on-year. The growth in cargo, it added, was primarily driven by containers which recorded growth of 18 per cent on-year.
In a regulatory filing, APSEZ said that during the first four months of the financial year, the company clocked 146. 3 MMT of total cargo, posting a growth of 8.0 per cent YoY. This growth was driven by Containers which posted over 18 per cent increase and Liquids & Gas which recorded over 9 per cent rise during the period. Further, it said that Dhamra Port handled its highest ever monthly volume of 4.6 MMT.
Meanwhile, the company’s logistics assets recorded a strong growth with YTD Jul’24 rail volumes growing by 17 per cent YoY to 0.21 million TEUs and GPWIS volumes growing by 28 per cent YoY to 7.42 MMT.
Earlier on August 1, APSEZ released its fiscal first quarter earnings with profit at Rs 3,112.83 crore, reporting a growth of 47.2 per cent on-year. This is in comparison to Rs 2,114.72 crore posted during the corresponding quarter of FY24. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 6,956.32 crore, up 11.3 per cent as against Rs 6,247.55 crore during the first quarter of previous fiscal year. The company EBITDA stood at Rs 4,847crore, up 29 per cent on-year.
