Renault Group’s CEO, Luca de Meo, has unveiled his vision for a robust European automotive sector in a candid letter addressed to political leaders today. Ahead of the upcoming European elections, de Meo’s letter advocates for a unified European effort to effectively navigate the automotive industry’s energy transition, according to an official release.
“I wanted to voice my perspective before the electoral campaign gains momentum, not to engage in politics but to contribute to informed decision-making,” de Meo said.
He emphasised the current phase of profound transformation as an opportunity for Europe to undergo an industrial renaissance, emphasising the need for cross-sector collaboration and large-scale public-private projects, drawing inspiration from the success of initiatives like Airbus.
