Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, and Emerson, a renowned automation company, have jointly announced the inauguration of the Tata Elxsi + NI Mobility Innovation Centre (TENMIC) in Bengaluru. This state-of-the-art centre aims to revolutionize automotive innovation through cutting-edge systems, software solutions, and global automotive expertise.

The launch event, attended by Manoj Raghavan, MD & CEO of Tata Elxsi, Ritu Favre, President of Emerson’s Test and Measurement Business Group, and Drita Roggenbuck, VP & GM of Emerson’s Transportation Business Unit, underscored the centre’s strategic significance. It brought together senior technology and R&D leaders from global OEMs, automotive suppliers, and semiconductor companies, highlighting TENMIC’s pivotal role in fostering collaboration and advancing automotive development and innovation.

The automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation with the rise of software-defined vehicles (SDV) and digital technology integration. This evolution necessitates accelerated innovation to swiftly develop, validate, and deploy new features while ensuring reliability, safety, and performance. TENMIC is designed to align with these industry shifts, facilitating early validation of performance and functionality through a blend of virtual and physical testing methodologies well ahead of production. Key to its approach are automation, agility, and the transformative impact of data and AI-led methodologies on the product development lifecycle.

TENMIC integrates advanced technologies and systems from Emerson’s Test & Measurement business (formerly NI) with Tata Elxsi’s extensive automotive engineering, data analytics, and digitalization capabilities. This collaboration aims to deliver comprehensive automated solutions, advancing SDVs, autonomous driving technologies, EV systems, and battery innovations.

“In India, Bengaluru stands as a global hub for next-generation automotive development, housing R&D centers across the mobility ecosystem from OEMs to silicon vendors. The paradigm shift in vehicle E/E architecture, electrification, and connectivity underscores the growing demand for advanced software development and testing capabilities,” remarked Shaju S., Vice President and Head of Transportation Business Unit at Tata Elxsi. “Our partnership with Emerson aims to harness global expertise, driving innovation and creating substantial value for our clients.”

Shitendra Bhattacharya, Director of Emerson’s Test and Measurement Business in India & ASEAN, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our collaboration with Tata Elxsi to establish this mobility innovation centre signifies a significant leap forward in automotive technologies and validation. This initiative will propel the industry forward, redefining possibilities within the mobility landscape.”
