Spark Minda’s Sanjay Gupta joins L&T Semiconductor Technologies as CDO and Global Head of Engineering

L&T Semiconductor Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has onboarded Sanjay Gupta as its new Chief Development Officer and Global Head of Engineering.

Incorporated in November 2023, L&T Semiconductor Technologies does not merely aim to be a mass manufacturer of processor or memory chips, instead it aims to play in the highly-engineered category. To simply put, focus on designing customised solutions for various industries. The company’s board had approved an investment of upto Rs 830 crore towards the business of fabless semiconductor chip design and product ownership.

Gupta’s appointment can be seen as a way to further accelerate L&T Semiconductor Technologies play in the ever-evolving global chips landscape.

He was previously associated with tier 1 supplier Spark Minda as the President and CEO for Minda Instruments (MIL), and Spark Minda Green Mobility (SMGM).

Prior to that he was the Vice-President & India Country Manager for NXP Semiconductors, where he was leading the R&D and operations managing over 3,000 employees across multiple locations – Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Noida.

In his new role, Gupta will be responsible for local and global R&D semiconductor product development in all aspects of systems, hardware and software.
