Neuron Energy ties up with OEM for e-2W battery production

Set to transform India’s EV industry, the company plans to produce 3,000 battery packs per month, in the facility, with a total energy output of 100 MWh.

The EV battery manufacturer, Neuron Energy, has announced to have joined hands with two-wheeler Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to transform the electric two-wheeler segment in India, marking it to be their first of a kind partnership. 

The partnership details

The partnership, as part of this initiative, will establish an advanced manufacturing facility only for the electric two-wheeler batteries. Neuron Energy will provide advanced lithium-ion battery packs, enabling the plant to produce 3,000 battery packs per month, with a total energy output of 100 MWh. Over the next two years, the partnership plans to increase this capacity to 150 MWh with a Rs.150 crore investment, to strengthen India’s EV ecosystem.

Commenting on the partnership, Pratik Kamdar, CEO of Neuron Energy, stated, “We are extremely excited about the partnership as this joint venture is a testament to our commitment towards enhancing the electric two-wheeler market with cutting-edge lithium-ion technology batteries. By collaborating with the OEM, we are combining our expertise in battery technology with their strong market presence to deliver superior performance and reliability to consumers.”

By establishing a manufacturing hub with strong production capacity, the partnership aims to address key challenges in the EV industry, including battery performance, affordability, and scalability.

Neuron Energy provides a range of electric mobility solutions from lead-acid to advanced lithium-ion and sodium-ion technologies for various applications beyond traditional vehicles.
