Boosting EV infra! Bharat Petroleum extends partnership with Ionage

With this extension, the company aims to improve the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India.

Bharat Petroleum has announced to extend its partnership with Ionage with the aim to enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country. The launch of BPCL’s BPC eDrive initiative, in 2022, led to the extension of the partnership, to integrate the company’s EV chargers into Ionage’s unified platform.

Ionage brings together charging stations from different Charge Point Operators (CPOs), so customers can easily access a large network of EV chargers through one platform, making it much more convenient for EV owners nationwide.

Speaking about the collaboration and the aim towards enhancing the EV Charging accessibility in India, Pardeep Goyal, Business Head, Retail, BPCL, said, “At BPCL, accessibility and convenience of customers is of prime importance for utilization of charging infra. Our collaboration with Ionage will enable customers to utilize BPC chargers from Ionage’s aggregation platform”

Vimal Kumar, CEO of Ionage added that, “At Ionage, our vision is to create a cohesive and comprehensive ecosystem that supports the needs of all electric vehicle owners and operators. And in line with this vision, we are happy to have extended our partnership with a brand like BPCL. This is a significant step towards making EV charging more accessible and reliable across India”.

The agreement was signed by S Kannan, Chief General Manager Marketing (Retail), BPCL, and Vimal Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Ionage, in the presence of Pardeep Goyal, Business Head, Retail, BPCL.

According to both companies, the partnership emphasizes the importance of collaboration in developing EV infrastructure. By integrating its chargers into Ionage’s platform, BPCL aims to improve accessibility and convenience for customers.
