Nansen, a crypto and blockchain analytics company, tweeted that one of its third-party vendors suffered a security breach affecting 6.8% of its users, stated Cointelegraph.
With insights from Nansen, the breach is believed to have given hackers access to admin rights for an account used to “provision customer access” to its platform.
Sources revealed that Nansen didn’t name the company that has been affected. It is believed Nansen mentioned that this vendor is “an established company that is used by many Fortune 500 companies,” along with other companies in the industry, to manage data, Cointelegraph added.
Nansen is expected to have identified and informed the affected users and asked all to change their passwords. Furthermore, it also explained that wallet funds were unaffected by the event, Cointelegraph concluded.
