The latest strides in AI are intensifying the imperative for digital transformation in a hybrid environment.

On October 30, 2023, Joe Biden, president, United States, issued an executive order. The new order is expected to establish new standards for artificial intelligence (AI) safety and security, stated Cointelegraph.

Sources revealed that Biden’s order stated it was building off previous actions taken, including AI safety commitments from about 15 companies in the industry. The new standards are expected to have six primary points. Apart from these, it will also include plans for the ethical use of AI in the government, privacy practices for citizens and steps for protecting consumer privacy, Cointelegraph added.

“Without safeguards, AI can put Americans’ privacy further at risk. AI not only makes it easier to extract, identify, and exploit personal data, but it also heightens incentives to do so because companies use data to train AI systems,”  an administrator explained.

Furthermore, the president officially called on Congress to pass bipartisan data privacy legislation. It is believed the president will prioritise federal support for the development and research of privacy techniques and technologies, Cointelegraph concluded.
