Google Workspace is helping organisations save 171 hours per user annually- equivalent to 21 days of productivity in a year, according to Forrester’s Total Economic Impact study. The study also highlighted a 20% reduction in on-demand tech support costs and a 336% return on investment (ROI) for organisations utilising the platform.

The findings were presented during the inaugural Google Workspace Media Summit held in Bengaluru, themed ‘Bring AI to Work.’ The event highlighted the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) at workplaces, with 31% of leaders predicting substantial transformation within a year.

Nearly 70% of enterprises now incorporate AI suggestions from Gemini, such as the ‘Help me write’ feature in Docs or Gmail, while over 75% of users generate images in Slides using AI tools.

Indian enterprises such as HCLSoftware, Zomato, Jindal Steel & Power, and JK Cement were mentioned as key adopters of Google Workspace, leveraging its tools for enhanced communication, streamlined workflows, and greater productivity.

During the event, Sumedha Chakraborty, country head of Google Workspace for India and South Asia, said, “We are seeing incredible interest in Gemini for Workspace. It’s transforming how people work by boosting the efficiency, creativity, productivity, and security of their organisations. At Google Workspace, we remain committed to advancing innovation while prioritising robust security and privacy measures. Our custom LLMs are blocking more spam and responding to threats faster than ever before, reaffirming our commitment to innovation, productivity, and security.”

The study from Forrester further underscored Google Workspace’s capabilities in optimising workflows and strengthening organisational efficiency. Its AI-driven classification has enabled the automatic identification and organisation of 900 million internal files for Google’s security teams, saving time and bolstering data protection.

Custom-built large language models (LLMs) have also significantly enhanced security features across Google Workspace. Gmail’s spam protection has improved by 20%, blocking more spam and analysing 1,000 times more user-reported spam daily.

Similarly, LLMs in Google Drive have accelerated responses to novel spam and phishing attacks by 90%, improving response times and security measures.
