Google for India 2023 Event Live Updates: All eyes set for for Google for India
“Google Cloud and ONDC to accelerate on boarding of events. Google has announced its partnership with SignCatch, using Google Cloud’s Generative AI technology.”
Shalini Puchalapalli, country head and senior director, Google Customer Solutions, addressed the event on how Google AI is helping with merchants.
Shivani stated that Indians will be able to access AI-powered overviews in English and Hindi, in over 100 government schemes spanning multiple areas.
“Advancements in AI has helped us reimagine ideas that seems like science fiction to become the search experience. Generative AI is helping us once again imagine what a search engine is by transforming the way information is organized. Users of authentic SGE using multilingual features, including English overviews and the text to speech feature, is helping them complete tasks by the speed of response,” Shivani stated.
Shivani of Google has started addressing the session. “I am so excited to be back in Delhi share the latest on how AI is helping us push the boundaries of innovation to help survive,” she stated.
“To leverage the powers of generative AI, we have talked about four areas which I believe will impact digital economy,” Gupta added. Gupta also mentioned about collaborating with stakeholders, startups, law enforcement agencies, among others, to make AI prospects possible.
“The idea of built in India, and built for the world, gets actual legs through generative AI,” Gupta said.

The session gets handed over to Sanjay Gupta, president of operations, Google India. “It’s an important idea on little spark that can unleash huge surge of energy of phenomenon we have seen take place every time preparation meets opportunity, such as when the invasion of Indians get together with digital public infrastructure, such as UPI,” Gupta said.
Beaumont highlighted that there area around 200,000 developers on Google Play developing for India, and the world. “But I’m pretty certain that for Google and for India, We’re only just getting started,” he added.
“Just one of the 4 billion transactions will pay this amazing access is what also gives Indians access to special services like Google Search and Google Maps, which I use every day around the country. And actually, those two services alone will create 920 million connections to businesses around India as they look to thrive and scale Just this month,” Beaumont said.

The event highlighted that for backing India’s digital innovators, as part of India Digitisation Fund investments, Google specified on providing support for early stage companies with a focus on women-led startups.
The event also emphasised on the creation of an AI blueprint to handle over 100 Indian languages, partnerships for India’s digital agriculture structure, and ensuring the safety factor for their products.
Almost a year back, Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google, highlighted the importance of AI for making the Internet safe for every Indian, and the role it’ll play in driving India’s digital transformation.
