This initiative marks a historic first in the state’s efforts to ensure a safer and more efficient event, showcasing a commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology.
AI-Powered Traffic and Crowd Management
The advanced system includes real-time congestion detection, vehicle counting, and integration with a network of drones and CCTV cameras. This seamless integration aims to significantly improve traffic management and public safety. The Traffic Command and Control Room will deliver real-time updates to devotees, ensuring smooth navigation during the event.
Drone and CCTV Surveillance
Odisha Police will deploy five state-of-the-art drones equipped with public announcement systems. These drones will play a crucial role in real-time announcements and crowd management. Additionally, fifty-five CCTV cameras will be strategically positioned across key areas of the city, complemented by the drones to cover blind spots. This comprehensive surveillance network not only enhances public safety but also improves incident response times. High-resolution cameras and advanced sensors on these drones ensure accurate data collection and real-time monitoring.
Innovative Solutions for Real-Time Updates
For the first time during the Rath Yatra, a WhatsApp ChatBot will provide real-time traffic monitoring and updates, keeping the public informed about traffic conditions. This innovative solution aims to facilitate efficient navigation through the city. A detailed mobility plan, including multiple high-capacity parking lots, has been devised to manage crowds during key Yatra phases like Gundicha, Bahuda, and Sunabesh.
Augmented animated videos will guide traffic routes, while LED vans across the city will display real-time traffic updates, aiding informed travel decisions based on inputs from the Traffic Command and Control Center. This technological leap forward is expected to minimize congestion and enhance traffic operations during the event.

The security deployment includes a robust force comprising various ranks to enforce no-vehicle zones along the Grand Road and from Hospital Crossing to Subash Bose Crossing, further ensuring safety and streamlining traffic flow.
Public Engagement and Assistance
Updates on traffic, motion videos, and real-time activities will be actively shared on social media platforms. Additionally, a dedicated helpline will be available 24×7 to provide real-time updates from the Traffic Command Center, supporting public assistance and queries during the Rath Yatra.
