The oath-taking ceremony of the Narendra Modi government today will witness extensive security arrangements, similar to those seen during the G-20 event last September. The national capital, Delhi, will be under tight security with multi-layered air defense systems in place.
Air Defence Measures
To prevent any aerial threats, a multi-layered air defense system is being deployed. A designated radius around Delhi will be monitored by radar surveillance, and specialized planes equipped with electronic surveillance will be airborne. Fighter jets from the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be on combat patrol, ready to respond to any threats. Additionally, several air bases in northern and western India will have fighter jets on standby.
Communication for these operations will be managed by a dedicated air defense center set up specifically for the event. This center will receive live feeds from radars, planes, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through the IAF Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS). The IACCS is an automated system designed to manage air defense efficiently.
Missile Defence Systems
Three layers of missile defense systems are ready to counter any aerial threats. These systems can address short-range threats up to 10 kilometers away, medium-range threats up to 50 kilometers, and longer-range threats beyond that. All missile systems are connected to the IACCS, ensuring a coordinated defense response.
Ground Security
On the ground, armed commandos from the central armed police forces and the Delhi Police will secure all routes. Snipers will be strategically positioned on the rooftops of nearby buildings to provide additional security. Drones will offer real-time surveillance, allowing commanders on the ground to monitor the situation closely and respond swiftly to any incidents.
Comprehensive Security
These extensive security measures are designed to ensure the safety and security of the oath-taking ceremony. With multiple layers of protection both in the air and on the ground, authorities aim to prevent any threats and maintain a secure environment for the event.
