Reliance Industries has clarified that it has no intention of trademarking Operation Sindoor. According to an official statement, Jio Studios, a unit of Reliance Industries, has withdrawn its trademark application. The statement clarifies that “the trademark filing was done inadvertently by a junior person without authorisation”.

It said,”Reliance Industries and all its stakeholders are incredibly proud of Operation Sindoor, which came about in response to a Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Operation Sindoor is the proud achievement of our brave Armed Forces in India’s uncompromising fight against the evil of terrorism.”
The statement further mentioned that Reliance Industries stands with the Indian Government and Armed Forces in this fight against terrorism. It added,” Our commitment to the motto of ‘INDIA FIRST’ remains unwavering.”
Trademark filing in a hurry
On May 7, Reliance Industries became the first to file a trademark application for ‘Operation Sindoor’. The decision was taken just after the military operation was made public on May 7, as reported by Bar and Bench. The corporate giant applied the phrase under class 41, which covers entertainment, education, and media services.
