Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Devansh Jain Nawal, Founder and CEO, Culture Circle, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
When I’m not working, I often find myself drawn to writing and sharing thoughts on X (Twitter) about life, philosophy, and moments of inspiration. It’s my way of processing my experiences, reflecting on the world around me, and connecting with a diverse range of perspectives. There’s something about distilling my thoughts into words that helps me make sense of things and, at the same time, allows me to engage in meaningful conversations with others. Whether it’s a fleeting idea, a deep reflection, or just a moment of clarity, I love how sharing these little pieces of myself sparks connections and offers new ways to view the world. It’s my own space to learn, grow, and engage with a broader community.
How do you spend your weekends?
I deliberately split my weekends into two parts: one dedicated to quality time with family and close friends, and the other to meeting new people outside my industry. This balance allows me to recharge with those who know me best while also expanding my horizons by connecting with individuals from different walks of life. I find immense value in hearing their diverse stories – it offers me fresh perspectives, challenges my assumptions, and keeps me grounded. Every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new, and it’s a reminder that the world is filled with experiences that can inspire growth and broaden understanding.
What are your favourite gadgets?
Ray-Ban Meta glasses are pretty cool – they’re changing how we interact with tech, all while looking stylish. And then there’s the Bizibean coffee machine, which honestly takes your coffee experience to the next level. Both are a perfect mix of innovation and everyday use, making life a little easier and a lot more fun!
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I weren’t in the entrepreneurial world, I’d likely be diving into writing or exploring the performing arts. There’s just something so captivating about the freedom of creative expression – it’s a way to connect with others and share experiences in such a unique way.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
Bali holds a special place in my heart. There’s something magical about the island – a rich tapestry of culture, stunning natural landscapes, and an almost palpable peaceful energy that makes it my ultimate escape. It’s not just a vacation spot; it’s a sanctuary that recharges my spirit and helps me see the world with renewed clarity.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching
I’d highly recommend watching ‘Suits’ and ‘Super Pumped’ for their brilliant portrayal of business dynamics. ‘Guru’ remains a timeless inspiration for entrepreneurs. And Pidilite’s campaigns from the 2000s are masterclasses in brand building – they perfectly balanced creativity with commercial impact.
