JioStar, the official TV and digital partner for IPL 2025, said the T20 tournament had reached a combined audience of one billion viewers across platforms, emerging as one of the most-watched seasons in the tournament’s history. The 18th edition of the league recorded a cumulative watch-time of over 840 billion minutes, it said on Thursday.

On digital, JioHotstar saw more than 23.1 billion views and 384.6 billion minutes of watch-time, reflecting a 29% year-on-year increase. A significant part of this growth was attributed to a 49% rise in Connected TV (CTV) viewing, the broadcaster said.

Television viewership also posted record figures, with Star Sports delivering 456 billion minutes of watch-time. The channel recorded the highest average ratings (TVR) across demographics and the overall viewing universe, based on data from BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council India) data for All India 2+ age group.

The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings on June 3 drew 31.7 billion minutes of watch-time across JioStar platforms, becoming the most-watched match in the league’s history. On television, the match reached 169 million viewers with 15 billion minutes of watch-time, as per BARC data. On JioHotstar, the match registered 892 million video views, 55 million peak concurrency, and 16.74 billion minutes of watch-time.

Sanjog Gupta, CEO, Sports and Live Experiences, JioStar, said, “The viewership numbers are reinforcement of our belief in the commitment to serve fans.”
