Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch on Thursday cancelled her appearance at the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) Infrastructure Conclave in Mumbai, where she was scheduled to deliver the keynote speech.
Instead, Pramod Rao, executive director of SEBI, delivered a speech.
This comes at a time when Buch has remained silent regarding a string of fresh allegations of multiple conflicts of interest, bribery, holding an office of profit and violating SEBI’s code of conduct while being at the helm of the regulatory body.
Queries sent to the regulator did not elicit any response until the time of going to press.
