ICICI Bank today launched India’s first ‘contactless’ debit and credit cards, enabling its customers to make electronic payments by ‘waving’ the cards near the merchant’s terminal in lieu of dipping or swiping them.
These cards are based on the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which is faster than the traditional cards to complete transactions – alongside they offer enhanced security as they remain under the control of the customer.
