IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet have issued travel advisories for passengers as dense fog has blanketed Delhi and reduced visibility in the national capital, impacting both flight and ground operations at the airport. Early morning conditions saw visibility drop sharply, making it difficult for aircraft movements and slowing departures. Passengers are advised to stay alert for possible delays and plan their travel accordingly. The foggy conditions also affected road traffic in the capital.

Delhi Airport has also issued a passenger advisory and fog update. In a statement, it said, “While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT Ill compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” Delhi Airport’s advisory read.

‘Some flights may take longer to depart’: IndiGo

IndiGo, in its travel advisory, said that as Delhi is experiencing reduced visibility, passengers should expect possible delays in departures. “Delhi is seeing its first hint of winter fog this morning, and visibility around the airport is currently reduced. As operations adjust to the changing weather, some flights may take a little longer to depart,” the airline said in its travel advisory for passengers.

It added, “We understand plans, schedules and connections matter, and we assure you that our teams remain available to support you throughout your journey.”

IndiGo said that since road traffic is slower than usual due to poor visibility, passengers should allow more time at hand to reach the airport.

“Road traffic may also be slower due to the fog, so we recommend allowing additional time while planning your journey to the airport,” the advisory added.

IndiGo also assured passengers that the team is closely monitoring the situation and will keep passengers posted. “As conditions improve, we will continue departures with safety at the forefront.”

IndiGo, in yet another update, added that “low visibility and fog” will impact flights.

“Low visibility and fog over Delhi will impact flight schedules. We’re keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly,” it said, before urging people to check flight status via website or app.

The airline added, “Be assured, our teams are here to assist you at every step and ensure support. Here’s hoping clearer skies help us serve you better soon, and thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.”

Air India’s advisory for passengers

Air India has also issued a travel advisory for its customers, urging them to check flight status before heading to the airport.

“Poor visibility due to dense fog is impacting flight operations in Delhi and parts of Northern India. Please check your flight status before heading to the airport,” Air India said in its travel advisory.

‘All departures/arrivals might get affected’: SpiceJet

SpiceJet, too, issued advisories for its passengers, warning them about flight delays due to poor visibility or bad weather.

“Due to bad weather (poor visibility) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected,” said SpiceJet in its advisory with the hashtag “weather update”.

The airline advised passengers to stay informed by tracking their flight status through the link shared in the advisory.
