SpiceJet on Thursday announced special flights to Bihar to take care of the increased travel demand during Diwali and Chhath Puja. The additional operations by the airline include flights from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to Patna. This move will further strengthen Patna’s air connectivity with major cities like Delhi and Mumbai amid the festive season.
According to the airline, the new flight service was introduced to manage the rush during the festive season. The official statement from SpiceJet stated that additional flight schedules would offer travellers greater convenience and flexibility, making it easier for people to visit their families during the festive period.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, said, “The festive season holds immense significance for millions of our passengers, and we are delighted to make travel home for Chhath Puja and Diwali more convenient and accessible. With enhanced connectivity to Patna, Darbhanga, and Ayodhya, SpiceJet continues to play a key role in bringing people closer to their loved ones for celebrations that matter most.”
Air India announces Chhath Puja special flights
Recently, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express also announced 166 additional flights to manage high flight demand during the festive season. The airlines announced 114 extra flights by Air India and 52 by Air India Express, from major cities like Delhi and Bengaluru to Patna.
The airline’s additional flight operations began on October 15 and to continue till November 2. These services are in addition to Air India’s 42 weekly flights to Patna from Delhi and Mumbai, and 14 weekly flights by Air India Express from Delhi and Bengaluru.
With both airlines expanding their networks, passengers travelling to Bihar for Diwali and Chhath Puja can expect more flight options, better schedules, and easier access to their hometowns, reducing the usual festive travel chaos.
