Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport faced disruptions on Monday due to snowfall in the Kashmir Valley, officials confirmed. All morning flights at Srinagar airport have been delayed due to bad weather.
“Snow clearance is underway on the runway, and all airlines have rescheduled their flights to depart after 9:30 a.m.,” an official from the Airports Authority of India stated.
The region experienced a fresh spell of snow on Sunday, following dense fog over the weekend that had already caused significant delays, diversions, and cancellations at the airport.
On Sunday, all flights were cancelled due to dense fog that caused zero visibility at the airport.
According to FlightRadar24, morning flights saw a slight delay and were re-scheduled for afternoon.
Meanwhile, Dense fog caused significant disruptions at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Monday, with poor visibility delaying approximately 60 flights, according to an official report. Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) were initiated at 7 a.m., heavily impacting air traffic.
Data from FlightRadar24 revealed three flight cancellations due to the weather conditions. As of 11:20 a.m., 71 departures and 41 arrivals had been delayed at the airport.
According to FlightRadar24, Kolkata airport reported as many as 3 cancellations amid dense fog and low visibility. Additionally, 71 departing and 41 arrival flights were also delayed at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport today, as per the data available at 11:20 am.
