A Russian passenger plane with 95 people on board caught fire after landing at Antalya airport in southern Turkey on Sunday (November 24), according to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport. Fortunately, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100, operated by Azimuth Airlines, had departed from Sochi and was carrying 89 passengers and six crew members on Sunday. The fire broke out after the aircraft landed at 9:34 p.m. local time, prompting the pilot to make an emergency call.

Airport rescue teams and firefighting crews quickly responded and extinguished the blaze. The incident resulted in no injuries, the ministry confirmed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Efforts were underway to remove the aircraft from the runway, and airport authorities temporarily suspended arrivals. Departures were redirected to a military-operated runway during the disruption.
