Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav hailed the inauguration of Rewa airport’s terminal building as a Diwali gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating it will significantly boost the development of the Vindhya region. Speaking at the event in Rewa, CM Yadav emphasised that PM Modi had delivered an early Diwali gift to the people of the Vindhya region.

Flights from Rewa to Bhopal at Rs 999

He announced that the state government would provide air travel from Rewa to Bhopal for Rs 999 for a month and flagged off the inaugural Rewa-Bhopal flight. Yadav highlighted that the new airport will open doors to the development of Vindhya, which encompasses seven districts, including Rewa.

He noted that the region is rich in natural resources and poised for growth, adding that through the efforts of PM Modi and the UDAN scheme, air travel is now accessible to even the poorest citizens.

Yadav further explained that Rewa, once overlooked by previous governments with no railway connection in 1993, now boasts an airport and will soon benefit from a new expressway linking Rewa to Bhopal.

In his speech, Yadav pointed out the ongoing development in Madhya Pradesh, with 25 airstrips and 6 airports already established. He also announced plans to build airstrips in every district, including airports in Ujjain, Shivpuri, and Datia.
