The Noida International Airport on Friday announced that it has entered into a concession agreement with Bird Group for providing ground-handling resources and services at the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.
The collaboration aims to ensure efficient and seamless ground-handling operations at the airport, thereby enhancing the overall passenger experience.
“In line with the airport’s aspiration towards net zero carbon emissions, Bird Group will ensure that all ground service equipment (GSE) will be electric-powered. This will help reduce the carbon footprint at the airport paving the way for more sustainable operations,” NIA mentioned.
Passenger priority
As part of the agreement, the Bird Group will assume a comprehensive range of responsibilities for the ground-handling project, encompassing various services for travelers.
Notably, these services include ensuring a warm welcome for passengers, efficient ramp operations, and meticulous attention to baggage handling.
“The focus is on establishing an environment that prioritises efficiency and passenger satisfaction,” the airport management mentioned in a statement.
Further, the Bird Group will ensure that all ground service equipment (GSE) is electric-powered, inline with the airport’s ambition towards achieving net zero carbon emissions.
CEO of Noida International Airport Christoph Schnellmann expressed confidence that Bird Group’s proven expertise and commitment to innovation will be instrumental in creating a world-class airport.
World-class restaurants and more at Noida Airport
Earlier last month, NIA granted a contract to HMSHost India for constructing and managing restaurants, cafes, and other food establishments at the upcoming airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.
A subsidiary of Avolta AG, HMSHost India through this partnership will be able to curate an impressive array of offerings that would feature quality food and ambiance, thus enhancing the overall experience at the airport.
Situated 75 kilometers away from Delhi along the Yamuna Expressway, the greenfield project is expected to commence commercial services after the completion of its initial phase by the end of this year, as per the officials.
