IndiGo will resume flight operations from Terminal 2 (T2) of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport starting October 26, following a temporary relocation earlier this year due to maintenance work. The airline announced that the move is part of a revised terminal strategy designed to enhance passenger convenience and streamline operations.

Revised Terminal Plan for Smoother Travel

With this update, IndiGo will now operate from all three terminals — T1, T2, and T3 — at Delhi Airport. The carrier has reorganized flight numbers to simplify terminal management and improve efficiency. Under the new plan, all IndiGo flights numbered 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 will operate from Terminal 2. Flights numbered 6E 5000 to 6E 5999, along with all international services, will depart from and arrive at Terminal 3. The rest of IndiGo’s domestic flights will continue to operate from Terminal 1.

“With the objective of enhancing customer convenience and airport efficiency, IndiGo will operate flights numbered 6E 2000 – 6E 2999 to/from Terminal 2, and flights numbered 6E 5000 – 6E 5999, along with all international departures, to/from Terminal 3. All other domestic flights will continue to operate to/from Terminal 1,” the airline said in a statement.

Resumption Follows Temporary Relocation

This development follows a temporary operational shift in April 2025, when IndiGo moved all flights from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 due to maintenance activities. The reopening of Terminal 2 marks the full restoration of IndiGo’s regular operations across all terminals at Delhi Airport.

IndiGo has urged passengers to carefully check their flight number and terminal details before departure to avoid confusion. The airline also noted that terminal changes could come with minor schedule adjustments. Passengers can access the latest updates via IndiGo’s website or mobile app.

Expanding International Connectivity

In addition to restoring its Delhi terminal operations, IndiGo is continuing to expand its international network. The airline announced the launch of daily direct flights between New Delhi and Guangzhou, China, starting November 10. The route will be served by an Airbus A320 aircraft, with the outbound flight departing Delhi at 9:45 PM and arriving in Guangzhou at 4:40 AM. The return flight will take off from Guangzhou at 5:50 AM and reach Delhi at 10:10 AM.

This marks a significant step in re-establishing direct air connectivity between India and China, which had been paused since 2020. IndiGo recently also restarted daily services between Kolkata and Guangzhou on October 26, becoming one of the first Indian airlines to reintroduce this route.
