Airline advisories today: Major airlines including IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet have issued fresh fog advisories on their X (formerly Twitter) handle. Dense early-morning fog is expected to disrupt flight operations at Delhi and other parts of northern and eastern India on Tuesday, potentially leading to delays, diversions and cancellations.

IndiGo issues advisory, flags visibility issues across multiple cities

IndiGo said early-morning fog is likely to affect visibility across Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Kolkata, Ranchi, Guwahati and Hindon Airport, warning that visibility may reduce suddenly during these hours and impact flight movements.

“Early-morning fog is expected to affect visibility across #Delhi, #Amritsar, #Chandigarh, #Jammu, #Kolkata, #Ranchi, #Guwahati and #Hindon (Airport). During these hours, visibility can reduce suddenly, impacting flight operations,” the IndiGo advisory reads.

Additionally, the airline said, “We recommend checking the latest flight status via https://bit.ly/3ZWAQXd. If your flight is impacted, you may conveniently choose another option or claim a refund”.

SpiceJet warns of possible impact on Delhi flights

SpiceJet also cautioned passengers that flight operations could be affected due to adverse weather conditions in the national capital.

“Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status,” the airline said in its advisory.

Air India cautions of network-wide disruptions

Air India, which had issued a weather advisory on December 29 for Tuesday, warned of dense fog and significantly reduced visibility at Delhi and parts of northern India, with a broader impact on its network.

“Weather forecast continues to indicate dense fog for tomorrow morning with significantly reduced visibility at Delhi and parts of northern India. This will affect flight schedules to and from Delhi with cascading effects likely across our network,” Air India said.

Adding to it, the airline further said, “Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and plan for possible delays as fog conditions continue to affect visibility during early morning hours”.

Delhi Airport shares fog update, says ‘flight operations continuing normally’
