Etihad Airways has released its preliminary traffic statistics for April 2024, showcasing a significant milestone in its operational performance. The airline transported more than 1.4 million passengers, with an average passenger load factor of 84% throughout the month.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Etihad Airways announced figures for the first four months of 2024. The airline transported approximately 5.7 million passengers during this period, reflecting a significant growth in its operations. Moreover, Etihad’s fleet has expanded to 89 aircraft, allowing the airline to serve a total of 68 destinations across the globe.

Sustained growth trajectory: 39% Year-on-Year increase in April 2024

In April 2024, Etihad Airways experienced a 39 percent year-on-year growth in customers, underlining its positive growth trajectory. This increase also contributed to a four percent boost in load factor, despite a significant rise in capacity compared to the same period in 2023, according to CEO Antonoaldo Neves.

Etihad Airways reported that their year-to-date (YTD) passenger figures reached 5.7 million, marking a 41 percent increase compared to YTD April 2023, he added.

He further mentioned that these numbers are bolstered by strong financial results from the first quarter of 2024, with Q1 earnings equaling the total net income for the entire financial year of 2023. This achievement highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to resilience, customer service, and efficiency.

Etihad Airways continues to expand its network and increase flight frequency in response to customer demand. In April, the airline successfully reintroduced its popular A380 aircraft on the New York route and announced plans to include it on flights to Paris starting November 1st, Neves mentioned.
