A Vistara flight from Delhi to Mumbai, carrying 167 passengers, made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport on Wednesday (August 14) due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft landed safely at around 12:30 pm.

According to Vistara, the flight made a “priority” landing due to a “minor” technical issue. The airline confirmed that the aircraft is undergoing inspection and will resume operations once deemed safe.

Hydraulic failure prompted emergency landing

According to a PTI report, the hydraulic failure prompted the emergency landing. The airline’s statement noted that a minor technical snag was detected shortly before landing, prompting the pilots to request a priority landing.

“Vistara flight UK 995, which was operating Delhi-Mumbai flight and had 167 persons on board, suffered a hydraulic failure due to which it had to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport,” one of the sources said.

As a precaution, the pilots requested a “priority landing” from Air Traffic Control. The aircraft landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
