An Air India flight en route from New Delhi to Brimingham made an unscheduled precautionary landing at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport on Wednesday. The reason behind the decision is said to be some technical issues, according to an official.
Inspections conducted on Aircraft
The Boeing 787 operating flight AI 113 departed from Moscow and successfully landed in Birmingham early on Thursday morning. An official confirmation regarding the same has not been made by Air India yet. However, a source has confirmed to PTI that a precautionary landing was taken because of safety measures. The number of passengers onboard is not known for now.
In July this year, another flight from Air India’s Delhi to San Francisco was diverted to Krasnoyarsk Airport in Russia. The airline later confirmed that the stranded passengers were safely transported to the US city in another special flight arranged by the airline. Air India made sure to provide ground support for the affected passengers and they were also assisted in their clearance formality on their arrival at the San Francisco International Airport.
In other recent developments, the merger between Air India and Vistara is in the final stage of completion. The Indian government has also permitted Singapore Airlines’ foreign direct investment of Rs 2,058.5 crore in the Air India Group.
