Air India Express flight on Wednesday received a bomb threat, after which the plane made an emergency landing at Varanasi airport.

Air India Express Spokesperson: “One of our flights to Varanasi received a security threat. In line with protocol, the Government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was immediately alerted, and all necessary security procedures promptly initiated. The flight landed safely and all guests have been disembarked. The aircraft will be released for operations once all mandated security checks are completed.”

In another development, The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport received a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon, which was later confirmed to be a hoax, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said. Around 3:18 pm, three fire tenders were dispatched to Terminal-3 following a call about a suspected device. “After thorough inspection, it was confirmed that the threat was false,” the official added.

The incident comes just two days after a high-intensity car blast near Red Fort Metro station, which killed 12 people and injured several others. Following the explosion, Delhi remains on high alert, with security agencies vigilant and responding to multiple hoax calls and alerts to ensure public safety.
