Tata Group-owned Air India has cancelled its scheduled flight from Delhi to Narita, Japan, for Friday. The airline has announced that passengers with confirmed bookings on the Delhi-Narita route for August 16 will be offered a one-time waiver for rescheduling and full refunds for cancellations.
The flight was cancelled by the airline due to “inclement weather warning at Tokyo”, the carrier said in a post on X. “Air India regrets to inform the cancellation of its flights AI306 and AI307 on the Delhi-Narita-Delhi sector on 16 August 2024 due to inclement weather warning at Tokyo,” the airline had said.
Earlier, a London-bound Air India flight from Mumbai returned to the coastal city on August 14 with 354 passengers on board after the pilot reported a pressurisation issue in the cabin.
The Boeing 777, which departed from Mumbai at 8:36 am., safely returned to the city, landing at around 11:30 am.
“Air India flight AI-129 that had departed from here Wednesday morning returned to the city after the pilot reported pressurisation issue in the Boeing 777 aircraft cabin,” a source told PTI.
In a statement, Air India confirmed that flight AI-129 made an air return due to a technical issue and safely landed for precautionary checks. The airline had arranged alternative flights for the affected passengers. It also provided passengers with full refunds or complimentary rescheduling as compensation for the disruption.
