Rajasthan Budget 2025-26 FM Diya Kumar Big Announcement for Farmers, Jobs, Health Sector: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the state budget for 2025-26 on Wednesday, unveiling key initiatives focused on job creation, water supply enhancement, and infrastructure development. According to ANI, Kumari announced significant measures to strengthen the state’s power and agricultural sectors.
The government plans to provide 5 lakh new domestic electricity connections and 5,000 power connections specifically for agricultural use. Additionally, eligible households will receive 150 units of free electricity, and solar panels will be installed in beneficiaries’ homes. These initiatives aim to promote renewable energy adoption and offer greater support to farmers.
Rajasthan CM highlighted the state’s growth trajectory, she stated that the government’s commitment to make Rajasthan a 350 billion economy by 2030.
Key highlights of Rajasthan Budget 2025-26
The major key points announced in the budget, recruitment of 1.25 lakh positions for the government departments and state undertakings in the coming year. The state’s infrastructure development is all set to get a significant boost. Plans for constructing nine greenfield expressways at an approximate budget of Rs 60,000 crore has been announced.
Rajasthan Deputy CM and Finance Minister pointed out that these expressways objective is to intensify connectivity and to contribute in aiding economic expansion all over the state. She further added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the states’s GDP is predicted to exceed Rs 19.89 lakh crore in 2025-26. The Rajasthan government has also witnessed an increase in the capital expenditure, which has surged by more than 40% in a very short time, as pointed out by Kumari. Over 9,600 kilometres of new roads has bene constructed and upgradation of 13,000 km of existing roads has also bene conducted.
In view of improving water access, the announcement has been made for allocating Rs 400 crore for providing new drinking water connections to households. The measures will be taken in focusing on upgrading basic amenities and to provide quality of life for the residents.
Details on Jaipur Metro Expansion and road projects
In a move to boost urban mobility, the government has announced a new phase of the Jaipur Metro and will remove the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) for easing out traffic flow. Moreover, 15 rings roads will be built in major cities like Jhalwar, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer and Balotra for boosting connectivity. The Rajasthan state will be developing 9 expressways will spread over 2,750 kilometres and will be made at a cost of Rs 60,000, as stated by ANI. Additionally, 21,000 kilometres of roads be reformed under the Bharat Mala Project for Rs 6,000 crore. The government has also granted Rs 10, crore per assembly consistency and Rs 15 crore for desert regions.
