Ahead of the Budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that India is one of the fastest-growing economies, and the nation has sustained a growth of 8 per cent over the last three years.

He asserted that the Union Budget will be a strong foundation of the government’s dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’, a developed India.

Speaking to reporters, PM Modi said that it is a matter of pride that after 60 years, a government has come to power for the third time and will present the first Budget for the third time.

“The guarantees are being gradually implemented on the ground. This Budget is an important Budget of Amrit Kaal. The Budget will decide the course of the five-year term that we got. This Budget will lay the foundation of Viksit Bharat,” he said.

“It is a matter of pride for everyone that India is one of the fastest-growing economies. There is a positive outlook, opportunities are at their peak. It is an important milestone of the development journey of Bharat,” he added.

He further appealed to all political parties to rise above party politics and work towards the development of India.

The Budget Session of Parliament will begin today, and subject to the exigencies of government business, the session is likely to conclude on August 12. The Union Budget 2024-25 will be presented in the Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
